For DTE Energy’s 2.1 million Southeast Michigan customers, there’s nothing more frustrating than a power outage. We put ourselves in the shoes of a stressed-out person with no WiFi, heat, or air-conditioning to guide our design of the DTE Energy app, which lets customers view energy outages, report their own outage, and track service repairs in real-time.


The app also provides the capability to find the closest grocery stores, coffee shops, and hotels with power – as well as make a bill payment. The new user experience reinvents how simple and fast it is for users to gain valuable information when they need it most.
